Tuesday

On Saturday Kate and I headed over to Maple Grove where we indulged both of us. We met up with some friends for WWKIP and did a little shopping. The guys were off camping with the Boy Scouts for the weekend.

I have been working on my Kiila socks and loving them. The gusset on the side is so cool. I am ready to start up the leg and hoping that it keeps my interest. I noticed that there is now a $3.50 charge for the pattern. The top picture was taken before I finished the heels. I am really liking them.

And the other picture is the mystery sweater progress for Warm Woolies. I won't be doing much on that one since the temps here lately are in the 90s and humid. A pile of wool in my lap just doesn't interest me when it is that hot. And since it is summer, I seem to do less knitting. I miss my time in the car knitting and waiting for kids!!

Oh my!

I have been reading this website http://www.postcardsfromyomomma.com/highest-rated/ and spending entirely too much time on it! Friday night I was laughing until I cried. Dave had to come and see what was so funny. Then he started reading it too. So I have not gotten much knitting done. But I did start a new project. It was sooooo cold here (in the 50s for highs early in the week!) So I started a wool sweater for Warm Woolies. It may not get done soon if the temps go up, but it is an easy and fun pattern. It was originally a mystery KAL on Ravelry  and the pattern is available here. I will post pictures when I get some taken.

Crabby Wednesday

I am out of sorts today. My van had to go in for some much needed maintenance and repair today. I really do not like to drive a different vehicle and I left the last two discs of my book on CD and my new clip on sunglasses in my van. Even though I had tried to get the stuff I thought I would need out first. And I couldn't remember if I had brought the clip on sunglasses in the house or not, so had to search the house just in case. And the weather has been cold and rainy. It was in the 60s for a short time today  -- and that was the high -- in June! It just did not make me happy.

Then I went on an errand to buy some napkins for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and all they had were some that said "50 years together" which I am sure my step-father could find offensive or insulting  somehow. He's just that kind of person. It is just going to be a small family celebration, so I got some solid color napkins and we will just do it that way and avoid the whole possible problem. The hardest part of planning things with my family is to try to anticipate the possible areas of conflict and avoid them, but since they change from day to day, it can be very difficult. That sounds awful, doesn't it? But, unfortunately it is the way things are. Boy, I hope my kids don't view me this way when I am older....

But I did start a sweater for Warm Woolies on Monday. And it is a fun pattern, so it should be some enjoyable knitting.

A New FO

Finished my yoga socks! And they are beautifully purple. I found the camera so now I can take some new pictures of my knitting, the most important use for my camera these days! Funny how it showed up in a place I would not have put it and the most recent picture had been taken by my son, who totally denies using the camera or moving it..... Life with kids, never dull.
