Skew is finished!

Finished my Skew socks and love, love, love them! Aren't they just lovely? They were very interesting to knit. I have been working on my What Happens in Vega$ socks. I am doing 2AAT on 2 circs and they have a definite left and right. I started them and knit right, left, right, left, which put the back of the right sock on the left and vice versa. I have it down now to right, left, left, then right. I am over halfway through the leg and other than a few minor errors which I am choosing to call "design elements," they are great.

Last Saturday I went to Yarnover, which was put on by the Minnesota Knitter's Guild. It was totally awesome. I spent the day in a class with Cat Bordhi and learned a lot. Even if I never knit the socks she was teaching (which I have already started, by the way) I learned so much from her about knitting in general that it was totally worth it. Am looking forward to going again next year. There was an amazing list of teachers and I would like to try more classes. And I had some nice yarn follow me home, too. And to top it off, it was an unMinnesota springlike day -- I had lunch outside in a short sleeve top with no jacket/coat/sweater and I was not cold -- on an mid April day in Minnesota this is unheard of!!

All Skewed Up

I am working on my Skew socks and am almost finished. Did the short rows on one sock today and need to get to the second one ASAP. Then just the ribbing and I will be done. The pattern is so intriguing. You start at the side of the toe and it is knit diagonally with a kitchener graft at the heel. It was written by someone who is really into math. It has been a fun knitting experience but it requires just knitting and following the pattern on blind faith. So far so good! I think the yarn works great with this pattern also. It is Colinette Jitterbug in the Kingfisher colorway. Now off to knit some more on these fun socks.

Aha! It's working!

Apparently, Blogger has had some issues recently and I kept getting weird error messages every time I tried to do anything. Let's hope it is working now.

On Wednesday night, Kate and I were coming back from Target and I said that I was so excited because on Thursday I could cast on a new pair of socks that I could hardly wait to knit. She thought this was hilarious and told me that with me, knitting is not a hobby, it's a lifestyle. So what is wrong with that, I ask?
